Suh-Hang (Hank) Juo, Med



Dr. Juo is a physician scientist. He received MD degree at the Kaohsiung Medical University in Taiwan and clinical training in neurology in Taiwan. In 1993, he went to the Harvard University and received MS degree in epidemiology, and then he transferred to Johns Hopkins University and received the PhD degree in human genetics/genetic epidemiology in 1997. He served as a post-doc fellow at the Rockefeller University and NIH, and in 1999 he was appointed as an assistant professor at the Columbia University Genome Center. In 2005, he returned to Taiwan while kept an adjunct associate professor at Columbia University. Currently, he is a distinguished professor in the Institute of New Drug Development at the China Medical University in Taiwan. His research areas include myopia, vascular biology and stroke. He has published more than 170 peer-reviewed scientific papers and own 17 patents. He received National Innovation Award (2013, 2017) and MOST Outstanding Research Award (2017).
