Colin Kealey

Dr. Kealey has served as MonarchBio's Chief Medical Officer since 2016, and has been with the company since 2011 when it was founded-based on his research into bioactive thin films at UCLA. In his current role, Dr. Kealey spearheads development of bioactive thin film-based products, with a focus on minimally-invasive implants for cell therapy and regenerative medicine.

During his time at MonarchBio Dr. Kealey has served as Principal Investigator on National Institutes of Health (NIH) grants totaling over $7 million dollars in funding. He also oversees preparation of materials for FDA and foreign regulatory bodies, and coordinates medical affairs for the company.

Prior to joining MonarchBio, Dr. Kealey was a resident physician and post-doctoral fellow in the UCLA Department of Surgery. Dr. Kealey earned his B.S. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Wisconsin – Madison and his M.D. from the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine.
